Telehealth

What is it?

There are some instances where technological advancements have improved healthcare. One of these is the introduction of telehealth services. Telehealth services allow people to consult with their healthcare professional in the comfort of their home. This is especially a good option for people that live in towns without or with limited options to see a healthcare professional.

Telehealth benefits:

  • Can be done in the convenience/comfort of your home

  • Does not require you to travel

  • Can be easily set-up

What to expect

Ideally the initial assessment is done in person as this allows the healthcare professional to complete a physical assessment. However, if this is not possible, an initial assessment can be completed via telehealth. Different options are available in terms of software (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams).
